SURGE Study

Same day and urgent care workforce research partnership.

The SURGE Study is investigating workforce challenges across the NHS same day and urgent care system.

Same day and urgent care is delivered by a wide range of healthcare professionals working in busy and unpredictable environments. These pressures can affect staff wellbeing, recruitment and retention, and ultimately the quality of patient care.

The SURGE Study brings together clinicians, researchers, service planners, patients and the public to understand workforce challenges across urgent care services. Over five years, it will develop evidence to support a stronger and more sustainable workforce.

Morph solution

Morph worked with the SURGE team to develop a bespoke digital communication platform to support the study over several years. Unlike a traditional clinical trial site, the SURGE website was designed as a long-term hub to bring together multiple workstreams and research outputs as the study evolves.

  • Explainer Animation – a clear, engaging animation introducing the SURGE study and explaining its aims. The animation provides a simple overview of the workforce challenges being explored and helps audiences quickly understand the purpose and scope of the research.
  • Study Website – a bespoke website designed as the central hub for SURGE. The site introduces the study, its partners and research areas, and will expand over time to host outputs from different workstreams. Designed to be clear and accessible, it provides a flexible structure that can grow alongside the study as new research and findings are published.

It has been an absolute pleasure to work with morph on the design of our study website. They took the time to really understand what we needed from the site both now, and as our research progresses. The design is both visually impactful and very user-friendly; we are particularly impressed with the excellent animations that really bring the work to life.

The final result is a website that has a distinctive brand and operates without any technical issues. We have worked with morph multiple times now, have recommended them to others and would not hesitate to partner with them again in the future.
